God Bless America! And our independence. I'm heading to Tennessee next week for the Brown family Fourth of July and of course I've got some suggestions for those of you who want to compete with those feisty fireworks. Play on! 1 Comment ![]() Isabelle in Blue Nile & Jennifer Behr I like to say that Catanna Berger saved my life on one occasion. Not in the literal sense but still. The Hunger Games actress Isabelle Fuhrman was running around New York City before her premiere of the Hunger Games. I had prepared a fabulous pair of four carat total weight Blue Nile Signature diamond studs to wear to the event. Isabelle's mother, the lovely Elina, called me hours before the premiere frantic, "Does Blue Nile make diamond hair accessories? We must have something for her to wear in her hair!" I calmed Elina down and told her not to worry, that I would take care of it. Minutes later I emailed Catanna Berger, Director of PR and Marketing for the world's luxurious hair accessories frequently worn all over the red carpet, Jennifer Behr. On hours notice, Catanna came to the rescue and provided Isabelle with a beautiful barrette. I was so appreciative of Catanna's ability to work with someone she had never met and together, we tagged team and pitched Isabelle to the media! I feel very lucky to have met someone I can relate to in so many ways and wanted to introduce this fabulous individual to my readers. ![]() Emma Stone in Jennifer Behr JVP: Tell me about your day to day roles at Jennifer Behr? CB: My day to day at Jennifer Behr consists of working with editors and stylists to find appropriate styles for editorial projects, advertisements, music videos, and celebrity red carpet appearances. On a daily basis I am also rotating products on our website, maintaining our social media outlets and designing promotional materials to keep web customers, sales accounts, and the media aware of Jennifer Behr happenings. Seasonally I have meetings with editors, bloggers, and wholesale buyers to go over the new Jennifer Behr collections, attend our lookbook photoshoots, and travel abroad for Fashion Week shows. JVP: What is the best thing about your job? CB: The best part of my job is seeing concrete rewards for my efforts. In many fields you can work for years without seeing the fruits of your labor, in my role I see celebrities wearing Jennifer Behr sometimes hours after loaning the stylist a piece. It is also extremely exhilarating each and every time I open a magazine to see a beautifully styled editorial feature with Jennifer Behr. ![]() Natalie Portman JVP: The biggest celeb fan of Jennifer Behr is ______________. CB: Hmm, that question is tricky. But, I know OUR favorite celebrities include Natalie Portman, Michelle Williams, Cate Blanchett, and Maggie Gyllenhall. JVP: What can we expect for fall in hair bling? CB: Current fashion trends are still very feminine right now. From the Jennifer Behr Fall collection you can expect to see romantic smoky and champagne colored crystal headwraps, gothic flowers, delicate gold chain-links and practical yet edgy knit headwraps. JVP: What accessory can you not live without? CB: Now that it’s summer I cannot live without my Jennifer Behr thin leather ponywrap. I also have a penchant for layering gold and silver bracelets on my wrist... Follow Catanna Berger on Twitter @catannaberger I love reading US Weekly and particularly the "What's In My Bag" section of the magazine where they ask celebs to dump out the contents of their bag. I felt compelled to do the same. So here it is! What's in your bag? From (Left to Right): 1. Planner. I still live by a hand written planner. And I don't care how many gadgets I own, this will never change. 2. Petit Ermitage pen. I take a little piece of West Hollywood with me everywhere I go. 3. Goody claw. Because a Publicist needs to pull her hair up more than once. ($9.98, Amazon.com) 3. Kate Spade wallet. Since I turned 18, it's the only wallet brand I'll buy. (Bloomingdales.com, $100) 3. Business card holder with cards. You never know who you will meet in the elevator. I bought this beautiful butterfly holder in Madison Park. 4. Kai perfume oil. My favorite smell in the world. ($48, Barneys.com) 5. Kleenex. Becuase no one likes a runny nose! (Drugstore) 6. Nars Gold Digger lipgloss. ($26, Nars.com) 7. Oil Absorbing sheets. I have naturally oily skin so I'm always blotting! (Drugstore) 7. Rene Furterer dry shampoo. Oily skin = oily hair too so I powder my roots! (2 pack for $42, Amazon.com) Love my Tumi bag. Note: Finished my last bout of Dr. Pepper lipsmacker so that would have been in there had I not ran out! I love seeing what is inside other peoples homes. From their art, to a collection of wine, to the color of the teapot, I truly believe all these pieces tell a story that comes back to a person (or couples) sense of style and individuality. I wanted to put together a slide show of those home accents that speak to both myself and Gabe at a deeper level - as individuals and as a couple. |
